Disobedience is too great of a price to pay!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18, "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
We cannot hope in the things we can see, then why would we hope. Our blessed hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ. What are you hoping for, better life, better career, better marriage, better money management. Whatever it is! The answer awaits you in the word of God. The scripture clearly states, in 1 Corinthians 15:19, "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."
Many people are miserable today, as they have chosen to hope in the temporal things. The things that they can already see. May I remind you. That this is not hope. That's why in the day of Noah, men rejected the warning of the coming rain.
What is hope? According to the Oxford dictionary "a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. A feeling of trust.
As children of the most High God, we wait with great anticipation for the coming of the Lord. While we are waiting, we are living and doing what ambassadors do. Representing Christ in the nations, telling others about Jesus Christ, who went away not to stay, but He will return again. Not as a baby in a manger but as a Reigning King. Many might not believe, obey are accept the good news. This will not change what is to come. Noah, encounter the same disbelief in His day. When he was given the message to warn, that it is going to rain. The people did not believe. Did their disbelief stop the rain from falling. No it did not. An this was not an ordinary rain. Genesis 7:4, "For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth." 1 Samuel 15:22b, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. We see here that obedience is indeed, better than sacrifice". This was a great price to pay because of disobedience and disbelief. Let us not make the same mistake as many that as gone before.
